Charlie Barnett signed a one year deal with Tranmere in July 2008.
The 19-year old had come through the Liverpool Football Club Academy and was a member of their FA Youth Cup winning side in 2006.
He was on trial at Tranmere at the beginning of pre-season and his performances in midfield impressed coaching staff and supporters.
He scored the winning goal in a pre-season friendly against Blackpool.
