Tranmere Reserves drew 0-0 against Morecambe this evening in the Pontin's Holidays League Division One West.
Both sides had chances to win, with John Achterberg making a number of saves for Rovers. At the other end, Adnan Ahmed came closest for the hosts, with his first shot on seven minutes going narrowly wide of goal from 25 yards.
Trialist Hugo Fernandes shot at Morecambe keeper Shwan Jalal on nine minutes after a good through ball from Mike Jones, while Dave Wilson forced a save from a tight angle soon after.
On 26 minutes Ahmed saw his initial shot saved by Jalal and he put the rebound just over the bar from 12 yards.
Tranmere's best chance of the second half came fon 57 minutes, with Tom Beahon sending his effort just past the post from the edge of the area after he ran on to a pass from central midfield partner Ahmed.
Striker Craig Curran was replaced by Terry Gornell on 62 minutes, while Ahmed blasted over from a Wilson pass with eight minutes of the game remaining.
