Tranmere Reserves suffered a 2-1 home defeat as Bury came from behind in the Pontin's Holidays League Division One West match at Prenton Park.

Tom Beahon came closest to scoring in an uneventul first half, while Shane McWeeney made a good save to deny Dale Stephens.

Five minutes after the break a long clearance from McWeeney reached Terry Gornell on the edge of the Bury area and the young striker found the bottom left corner of the net with a well placed shot.

However, the lead lasted just one minute, with Stephens brilliantly shooting into the roof of the net from a free kick 25 yards out.

With eight minutes remaining Luke Holmes grabbed the winner for the visitors, shooting under the body of McWeeney from a narrow angle.
