Reserves: Accrington Stanley 0 Tranmere 1
Tranmere Reserves ended their season with a 1-0 win at Accrington Stanley in the Pontin's Holidays League Division One West.
A young Rovers side featured only two players with first team experience but first year scholar Josh Macauley's 55th minute goal was enough for the three points.
The striker netted from six yards out from Mike Jones' cut back after good work on the left from Dave Wilson.
After the match Coach Shaun Garnett said: "For the first 20 minutes we were a bit sloppy but we picked up and created a few chances with Adnan Ahmed, Terry Gornell and Tom Beahon all going close.
"We deserved the win and it could have been by more, though Accrington had a few half chances towards the end."
Tranmere: McWeeney, Holmes, Mitchell, Waterfall *, Cresswell, Mike Jones, Beahon, Ahmed, Wilson, Gornell, Macauley. Substitutes not used: Richardson, Kennedy, Denson, Taylor, Corrigan.
* denotes trialist
