Tranmere Reserves were eliminated from the Liverpool Senior Cup on Tuesday night in a remarkable 6-5 defeat against Waterloo Dock at Bootle FC.
At half time a young Rovers side found themselves 2-1 up with goals from Ryan Fraughan and Paul Henry, and they were soon 3-1 ahead when Charlie Barnett scored.
However, the home side scored three in a row to take the lead before Rovers took the game into extra time thanks to an Ash Taylor strike.
Jack Mackreth put Tranmere 5-4 up but Waterloo Dock netted twice more to secure the win.
