Tranmere Reserves suffered a 4-1 defeat in their totesport.com League Cup group match against Leicester City at the Walkers Stadium on Wednesday night.

Rovers were 1-0 down at half time and conceded a second with twenty minutes remaining. Kithson Bain pulled a goal back on 79 minutes when he turned in trialist Zoumana Bakayogo's cross from close range, but the home side added two more in the final three minutes.

After the game Reserve Coach Shaun Garnett said: "We played ok and the performance didn't deserve the result. Both halves were fairly even but we were punished for our mistakes. Hopefully the lads will learn from them."
