Tranmere Reserves suffered a 4-1 home defeat against Wrexham at Kirklands on their return to totesport.com League action.
Rovers found themselves a goal down after 15 minutes when Joe Collister was beaten by a 30 yard effort and the Dragons were 2-0 up just before half time when Matty Wolfenden pounced on a loose ball after Collister had made a good save.
Alan Mahon pulled a goal back 15 minutes into the second half with a volley after Charlie Barnett's cross was weakly cleared but the visitors soon restored their advantage and added a fourth before the final whistle.
Striker Bas Savage completed the full 90 minutes but Kithson Bain came off ten minutes into the first half with an injury. Trialist Robin Kacaniklic was replaced by Ross Rule late in the game.
