Rovers 1 Preston 1

Tranmere Reserves drew 1-1 with Preston North End tonight (Wednesday) in the Pontin's Holidays League West Division.
After Adam Dickinson and Steve Davies had tested the Preston keeper, Rovers took the lead on 19 minutes. A free kick taken by Phil Palethorpe deep in his own half came off the head of a defender straight to Paul Brown. The winger volleyed the ball superbly into the top right corner from the edge of the area giving the keeper no chance.
Dickinson twice went close later in the first half, while Brown and Davies both had opportunities to double the lead in the second half as chances were at a premium.
Just as Rovers seemed set to claim the victory and leapfrog their opponents into third place, Preston equalised. Palethorpe came for a high cross on 87 minutes, failed to hold on to the ball and Ashley Parillion volleyed in from 15 yards.
