Wrexham 0 Rovers 5
A fine display from Rovers saw them thrash a young Wrexham side at Buckley Town FC in the Pontin's Holidays League Cup quarter finals.
After some early pressure in torrential rain, Rovers took the lead on 25 minutes when Steve Davies slotted into the far corner from 16 yards after a cross field pass from Steve Jennings.
Two minutes later the score was 2-0 with Mike Jones converting from similar distance after Davies supplied the pass.
The contest was effectively over on 37 minutes when Adam Dickinson out-muscled a defender before firing high to the keepers' right from just inside the area with his right foot.
Goal number four came on 64 minutes when Jennings' through ball found Davies just inside the area and he played a perfectly weighted pass to Mike Jones who side footed home. The scoring was rounded off two minutes later when Jennings blasted a shot past the keeper from outside the area.
Triallist Chris Slater completed the full 90 minutes but both Paul Martin and his replacement Michael Johnston came off with injuries.
