Tranmere Reserves suffered their second defeat in three days, losing 1-0 to Bury at Prenton Park in the Pontin's Holidays League.

Rovers came close in the first half through Jamie Garry, Mike Jones and Steve Davies but found themselves 1-0 down on 44 minutes when Marc Pugh beat Michael Johnston to the ball and lobbed over Phil Palethorpe.

John McMahon's side pressed forward in the second half and Mike Jones had several efforts from outside the area before striking the post on 62 minutes after good work from Davies.

Paul Brown hit the side netting with 15 minutes remaining while Davies headed over in injury time as Rovers slipped to defeat.
