Tranmere Reserves claimed a point in a hard fought goalless draw at Buckley Town's Globe Way.
Rovers were never overly troubled throughout the 90 minutes of Pontin's Holidays League action but only tested the home keeper on a few occasions themselves.
Paul Brown, Joe Fowler and Steve Davies all tried long range efforts in the first half, while Gary Lovell headed away from the line at a corner at the other end.
In the second half Mike Jones missed with several shots from outside the area and Brown forced a save with a curling free kick. Dale Whitehead - a triallist from Bolton Wanderers who completed the 90 minutes in the centre of midfield - tried to cap a solid performance with a 30 yard effort but it went wide of goal.
With eight minutes remaining Rovers came closest to a goal when Olly James overlapped on the right and squared the ball across the six yard box, only for Davies to see his attempt cleared by a defender on the line.
