Rovers 2 Wrexham 0
Craig Curran made it a week to remember by scoring both goals as ten man Tranmere defeated Wrexham 2-0 in the Pontin's Holidays League at Rivacre Park.
The striker, who was an unused substitute for the first time in the FA Cup win over Woking, scored in each half to take Rovers to the top of the division.
After Sean Ferguson had forced an early save from Wrexham keeper Michael Jones, Rovers were down to ten men on five minutes, when Danny Holmes was shown a red card for pulling back Marc Williams as the striker bore down on goal.
The one man deficit didn't overly affect Rovers, and they went 1-0 up on 18 minutes, when Curran found the far corner of the goal when one-on-one with the keeper.
Curran narrowly missed out on a second ten minutes later with a header from a Michael Johnston cross, and the visitors were also a man down two minutes before the break, when Levi Mackin was sent off for his second bookable offence in two minutes.
The win was sealed by Curran on 70 minutes, when he tapped in Ryan Mitchell's ball across goal following a well hit cross from Ferguson.
