Andy Taylor says the fans can play their part in helping Rovers to their first win of the season.

Rovers go into their first home game of 2008-09 on the back of two defeats, but the defender thinks they can put that right.

He told Tranmere World: "After the start we've had, we need to get the ball rolling. Hopefully with the home crowd behind us we can do that and get some points on the board.

"It can be easy to panic, but it's a long season and it's only early days.

"We had enough chances at Grimsby to win three games comfortably, but it was just one of those days when the ball wasn't going to go into the net for us."

Taylor admitted he'd be pleased to see Ian Goodison back on the pitch on Saturday.

The Jamaican international returns to the squad following a two game suspension.

"Ian is a big miss for the team and the defensive unit," Taylor added. "Hopefully Danny Coyne will be back too. Those two were a big part of the back five last season.

"We've also missed Chris Shuker as he can always unlock defences with a bit of skill, and Gareth Edds was having a great pre-season until he pulled his hamstring."
