Curran: "Mark And Alan's Experience Will Help Us"

Posted on: Tue 14 Jul 2009

Craig Curran says the experience of new signings Alan Mahon and Mark Allott will prove beneficial.

The midfield pair have played more than 850 games between them which Curran believes will help Rovers' young squad.

He told www.tranmererovers.co.uk: "Mark and Alan are both good players who are experienced. That will help us, especially in the cold midweek away matches when you really need it. They've both settled in well and look good in training."

And having finally got over the injury problems that dogged him throughout 2008-09, Curran is eager to get into the thick of the pre-season action.

He added: "I'm looking forward to the games. Having missed so much of last season and getting back just at the end, it was hard to have a break again.

"They're important to help with match fitness and to show the Gaffer what you can do and to try to get yourself on the sheet for the first game of the season."
