Wayne Allison says Rovers can build on their run of three clean sheets in the last four games when they travel to Huddersfield on Tuesday night.
The Chief, who is coaching the first team under Caretaker Manager Les Parry, believes Tranmere can get a result at the Galpharm Stadium.
He told Tranmere Player: "They're flying. They're a good team, a good unit and they score an abundance of goals, so we're under no illusion about what to expect.
"But with the form we're in and the clean sheets we've keep over the last few games everybody is quite confident.
"Let's not forget that we can create chances, we can go forward and we can compete.
"It's about attitude and mentality - the willingness to defend. We are a unit now who have a good understanding. We have stuck together and other teams have been restricted to long range shots.
"First and foremost we have to compete with them. It's a big ground and a big pitch, and there will be a good crowd there. But we won't be fazed by that."
