Having had a couple of weeks to reflect on the end of the season, Rovers Coach Shaun Garnett is happy with the way things went.
Though he admits there were ups and downs during the final eight months of the campaign, he says achieving the target of keeping Tranmere in League One has to be viewed as a success.
He told www.tranmererovers.co.uk: "I can honestly say hand on heart that there was never any doubt in my mind that we were good enough to stay up. I think you have to say it was successful in terms of the end result.
"The disappointing thing was that we had a little dip in the early part of April which didn't help the situation. Other teams around us seemed to be going on a run at the same time so we were making it hard for ourselves. Overall though, if you look at the form guide starting from October right through to May it has been fairly decent.
"At times it was frustrating. We didn't put back to back wins together until the final two games of the season. Sometimes we'd get a good point away from home but you'd come off the pitch and Exeter or someone else had won. We managed to come out of the bottom four twice but had a couple of disappointing results and dropped back in both times. We were always up against it but we always had the belief that we'd get out of it.
"For me there were a few highlights. The win over Norwich at home is up there as is the Stockport game on the last day of the season. But I think the most important game for us is the home game against Millwall. That was a massive result for us as it gave us a chance at Stockport."
