Morrow: "I'm Pleased To Be Here"

Posted on: Wed 01 Sep 2010

Only a great save from Accrington Stanley keeper Alex Cisak denied Sam Morrow the perfect debut.

The striker, who arrived at the Club from Coleraine a day earlier, saw his late shot pushed away by Cisak before Rovers went on to lose the Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie in a penalty shoot out.

Morrow said: "I'd pleased to be here and I enjoyed the run out. I'm just looking to get a few minutes under my belt and improve my fitness.

"The keeper pulled a great save off from me. It would have been nice if it had gone in on my debut but it wasn't to be and unfortunately we went on to lose on penalties.

"There were a couple of teams in Scotland interested in me but Tranmere was the only place I wanted to come. The Gaffer has shown an interest in me over the last couple of weeks and now I'm looking forward to starting my career off here.

"I've enjoyed my time here so far and long may it continue. They're a great bunch of lads and I've settled in well."
