Thursday, 20 March, kick off 7.45pm
Tranmere Manager Ronnie Moore hopes to have Ian Goodison available for selection after the defender rejoined training this week. Steve Davies remains the only definite absentee for Rovers due to a knee injury.
Port Vale boss Lee Sinnott has Adam Eckersley available for selection after the defender came through a reserve game unscathed in midweek. Shane Tudor, Colin Miles and Keith Lowe are all unavailable.
Port Vale come to Prenton Park in bottom spot in League One, 14 points adrift of safety with eight games remaining. Their away league record consists of three wins, two draws and 14 defeats.
Last Saturday a late Luke Rodgers strike earned Vale a draw against Play Off hopefuls Leeds United. The visitors, United, were 2-0 up at half time but two goals in quick succession from Paul Harsley and Danny Whitaker levelled matters. Dougie Freedman's 86th minute effort looked to have secured the points for Leeds, before Rodgers intervened in injury time.
Tonight's match will be the 87th time the two sides have met, with Tranmere holding a 36 wins to 28 advantage. Earlier this season the teams shared a goalless draw at Vale Park, while last season's clash at Prenton Park ended in a 2-1 win to the visitors.
