Tranmere Rovers will play Premier League side Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday, 29 July as part of their pre-season preparations.

Gary Megson's side, who also played at Prenton Park last summer, finished 16th in England's top division last season.

Wanderers' squad features a number of well known players including Jussi Jaaskelainen, El Hadji Diouf, Kevin Nolan, Kevin Davies and Ian Goodison's Jamaican international team mate, Ricardo Gardner.

Also visiting Prenton Park will be Championship side Blackpool on Saturday, 2 August, while Ronnie Moore's squad will play a number of local pre-season friendlies against non-league opposition.

The Tranmere Manager said: "Bolton gave us a very good test last summer and I am happy to welcome them back to Prenton Park. They have some very talented players and will provide us with the standard of opposition we need before the new season starts.

"I'm grateful to Gary Megson for agreeing to play us once again and look forward to the game."
