Tranmere Under-18s reached the Fourth Round of the FA Youth Cup with a 3-0 win over Northampton Town at Sixfields on Wednesday night.
Rovers took the lead on 55 minutes when Joel Richardson headed in Ryan Fraughan's corner, and the advantage was doubled on 77 minutes, this time Josh Macauley heading in a Fraughan corner.
Fraughan was also the provider for the third, sliding a through ball to Macauley who poked the ball beyond the advancing goalkeeper.
Youth Coach Shaun Garnett commented: "We worked very hard in the first half and raised our game in the second. We had to be more direct than normal because of Northampton's work rate, but we still played controlled football.
"It is an excellent result and the lads were a credit to the football club. It's a great achievement for them to reach the Fourth Round of the FA Youth Cup."
