Luke Holden

A brace from Luke Holden earned Rovers a place in the Second Round of the FA Youth Cup sponsored by E.ON.

The winger equalised for Shaun Garnett's side on 85 minutes, and added the winning goal early in the first half of extra time, scoring directly from a corner.

Bury hit the post with five minutes remaining in the second half of extra time, but Rovers held on for the win.

Youth Coach Shaun Garnett said after the match: "We battered them for long periods but couldn't score and went behind against the run of play. Luke scored a very good first goal from 18 yards after a solo run, then got the second on 93 minutes straight from a corner. He'd already come close early in the game, and hit it at a difficult height for the keeper.

"We got our reward for keeping going when things weren't going our way and I'm delighted for the lads that they're the first team to go through to the second round."
