Tranmere's Youth team are just one match away from their first FA Youth Cup appearance at Prenton Park in three seasons.

Shaun Garnett's side have been drawn away in seven successive ties - but the reward for a victory over Cambridge United on Thursday night would be a home match in the Third Round against Crewe Alexandra.

Including this season, the last three campaigns have seen Rovers play away to Blackpool (twice), Chesterfield, Wycombe, Crystal Palace and Bury.

Garnett said: "It would be great for the lads to play at Prenton Park in front of their friends and family, but they can't look beyond the match at Cambridge.

"It will be a tough game for us and we need to make the most of our chances. Fingers crossed we'll get a good result and finally get to play at home."
