Midfielder Reece McAlear was born in Glasgow on February 12th, 2002, and spent time in the Motherwell youth setup before moving south to join Norwich City.
He made his debut for the Canaries as a substitute in a Championship match against Coventry City in November 2020.
In June 2021, McAlear joined Scottish Championship side Inverness Caledonian Thistle on a season-long loan, eventually leaving Norwich at the end of his contract the following summer.
McAlear then signed a two-year contract with Tranmere. After featuring for Rovers, he furthered his development by joining Ayr United in January 2023 on loan until the end of the season, helping the Somerset Park side reach the Championship play-offs.
