Liam Ridehalgh and Adam Buxton have started light training but this game comes too soon for them whilst Evan Gumbs (leg) is still an absentee.

For Swindon, Marc Richards is on his way back from injury and could play a part in tomorrow's game.

Match Reports

Match Report: Swindon 3-2 Tranmere

18 August 2018

Rovers fell to their first defeat of the season in tough circumstances at the Energy Check County Ground, losing 3-2

Tranmere were out of the traps in lightning quick fashion and stunned the hosts as they went into a two goal lead within 12 minutes.

First, Jonny Smith was the beneficiary of great link up play between Norwood and Jennings. The latter slid the ball across to Smith who had the simple task of tapping the ball into an empty net from four yards.

Just four minutes later, it was two. Stockton flicked on for Norwood who slotted underneath Vigouroux to double the lead and make his goal tally four goals for the campaign.

Rovers were totally dominant until the game turned on its head on the 16th minute. Jay Harris went high into a tackle in midfield and the referee brandished a red card.

It only took the home side a matter of three minutes to capitalise on playing against 10 men. Adebayo latched onto a pass through the Rovers defence and poked past Davies into the bottom right corner to halve the deficit.

Despite the man disadvantage, Tranmere came close to extending the lead. Caprice played a neat one-two with Smith and crossed for Jennings who laid the ball to Norwood. He was denied by a last ditch tackle from the defender.

Going into the second half it was one way traffic and it took Swindon 15 minutes to draw level. A simple ball into the box fell to the feet of Richards who calmly placed the ball low into the bottom left corner with over half an hour to go.

After constant pressure, The Robins got themselves ahead in fortuitous circumstances. The ball fell to Romanski 10 yards from goal, he kicked the ball onto his standing foot and the ball squirmed past Davies in the Rovers goal.

Tranmere huffed and puffed but Swindon kept the ball for the majority of the remaining minutes, consigning Rovers to their first defeat of the season.

Tranmere: Davies, Caprice (Mullin 83') Ellis, McNulty, Monthe, Smith (Mottley-Henry 61') Banks, Harris, Jennings, Norwood, Stockton (Gilmour 68')

Unused Subs: George, Spellman, Tollitt, Cole
