Manager gives injury update in pre-match press conference

Micky Mellon provided an update on the injury situation at Prenton Park during his pre-match press conference earlier this afternoon.

Speaking about Ben Tollitt, who will miss the rest of the season with a knee ligament injury sustained last weekend against Aldershot Town, the manager said: "First and foremost, it's terribly disappointing for the boy because he had worked so hard to get himself back.

"But you always try and look for the positives from the situation and I spoke to him this morning and he'll be back for pre-season training so you just have to look forward now.

"He has to prepare now to be as best ready for pre-season now and support his team mates in the best way that he can."

The manager also provided an update on other players who have been carrying knocks in recent weeks.

"A lot of the players who have had niggles are back training now.

"Manny Monthe, Jack Dunn and Eddie Clarke have all trained today and are back in the group.

"James Wallace will start to train again next week, so we're looking good and enjoying being out on the training pitch in the sunshine."
