FC Halifax Town vs Tranmere Rovers

Saturday 21 April 2018

Kick-off 3:00pm at MBi Shay

TEAM NEWS

Tranmere Rovers manager Micky Mellon reported no fresh injury concerns from Tuesday night's long trip to Dover Athletic.

Winger Ben Tollitt missed the fixture in Kent and his season has been prematurely brought to an end after he suffered a knee ligament injury in last weekend's 2-0 victory over Aldershot Town.

In better news, Manny Monthe and Jack Dunn have both returned to training after niggling injuries while youngster Eddie Clarke has had a week on the training ground now under his belt and comes into consideration once more.

FC Halifax Town sit in 15th position, safe from relegation and now looking to finish the season on a high with a top-half finish still a possibility.

Last time out, they suffered a 1-0 defeat on the road against Torquay United and had former Tranmere loanee Ben Tomlinson sent off, meaning he is unavailable to face his former club.

The two sides have already met twice so far this season. The first meeting was in the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup when Rovers picked up a 3-1 victory courtesy of goals by Connor Jennings, James Norwood and Liam Ridehalgh. A couple of weeks later, the sides met in the league at Prenton Park, with Tranmere again getting the better of the Shaymen with a 4-2 win, goals coming from James Norwood (2), Larnell Cole and Dylan Mottley-Henry.
