Watching and Listening to Tranmere games in the EFL

If you can’t make it to see one of our matches live, you have a variety of options to watch or listen:

If you live outside of the UK

The good news is that for the first time, If you are an overseas resident you can now live stream all League games except those chosen for Sky TV coverage.  You will get both a visual stream and an audio commentary, and your subscription will also allow you to access exclusive behind the scenes news and information from the Club.  The only way to access this is through iFollow either using their App, which can be downloaded from the AppStore or Google Play, or on a PC using the link on the Club’s website.

The cost of a season’s iFollow subscription is £110.

The EFL rules for iFollow users mean that we are no longer permitted to allow any other provider to stream a visual or audio commentary over the internet, so using iFollow is your only option.

If you live in the UK but are overseas temporarily

If you live in the UK but are overseas temporarily you can subscribe for the live video stream on a match by match basis, for £5 per game.

If you live in the UK

UK subscribers can get:

  • live online audio commentary of all games;
  • match highlights (visual and audio); and
  • exclusive behind the scenes news and information from the Club.

The cost of this is £4.49 for a month pass, or £45 for a full season.  As for the overseas subscribers, you can access this through the iFollow App or a PC.

In addition, iFollow will make available for visual live-streaming with full commentary those matches not played on Saturday afternoons or scheduled for Sky coverage.  In our case that should include our 2 Friday night games as well as midweek games.  This can only be accessed on a game by game basis, for £10 a game.

We are currently in discussions with Radio Wirral (the new community radio station which was established following the demise of the former Wirral Radio) who hope to have a DAB licence in place to be able to broadcast on digital radio in time for the first home game of the new season.  Unfortunately, following the demise of Wirral Radio, it is unlikely that the government will grant any new FM licences for Wirral and therefore DAB is likely to be the only available free radio format.

FAQs

  1. 1.       Who will be doing the commentary on iFollow?

The commentary on iFollow (for both the visual and audio streaming) will be provided by the same commentators that we have all come to know and love during our years in the National League wilderness - Phil Wilkinson, Adam Siddorn, Rob Edwards and Dave Higgins

  1. 2.       I live in the South of England.  Is there any way I can get free audio commentary?

Unfortunately, the only way to get audio commentary outside of Merseyside is to register for iFollow, as was the case last time we were in the EFL.

  1. 3.       I can’t afford to pay for anything – is there any free content available on iFollow?

Yes you can get a free pass to iFollow, which will give you access to the behind the scenes Club content and news, but the free pass doesn’t give access to any visual or audio content.

If you live in Merseyside, you will hopefully be able to access the Radio Wirral DAB broadcasts.

  1. 4.       Where does the money I pay for iFollow go?

The majority of the money goes to the Club, and the rest goes to iFollow.

  1. I’m having technical problems – how do I get help?

Please use iFollow’s online help chat service in the first instance.  If that does not resolve your issue please e mail us on tellus@tranmererovers.co.uk

  1. The single match option was not available on Saturday – why?

If you live in the UK, the single match option will only ever be activated for games not in the Saturday afternoon slot.
