"It's been a good start." - Connor Jennings ahead of Swindon Town

17 August 2018

We spoke to Connor Jennings ahead of our trip to Swindon on Saturday

"I think we've started off well, there is a lot of positives to take out of the three games so far.

"Each game asks you different questions so we need to stick to the way we play like we have been doing and things have gone ok so far.

"Everyone is pulling their weight and we've got an experienced squad. It was a tough pre season in terms of who we played so I think that helped a lot.

"It's been a good start. We felt we could have got the three points at Stevenage as I thought we played some good football.

"It was another solid performance against Cheltenham so I was just delighted that we won, especially at home in front of our fans.

"The likes of Swindon and other team, you look at the fixture list and it looks a lot better compared to last season. It gives everyone a lift.

"I don't feel that I've got a point to prove and neither does anyone else. We just need to stick to together and play our normal game.

"I don't think that the pressure is different this year. It's just the way the club is in general with high expectations which is one of the reasons that I signed here.

"Our standards can't drop, we're expected to win and I'd rather it be like that than the other way round.

"Obviously three team go up automatically and one via the play offs compared to just two in the national league. If we were around the play offs near Christmas then I'd be happy with that.

"I don't have any personal targets, I just want to keep doing what I've been trying to do. As long as we're winning as a team, that's the main thing."
