We spoke to Micky Mellon ahead of our game with Port Vale on Saturday at Prenton Park
“I think we’re still at a point where we are cautiously optimistic, we’re still not entirely sure where we are in terms of pecking order amongst the more established teams in the division.
“A lot of our fans have experienced the Football League before but as far as the team are concerned, it’s a new challenge for them. We should probably have more points but that’s part of a learning curve.
“We know our principles and the way we’re playing, we’re learning about each other all of the time and we’re enjoying the journey.
“It’ll be another tough game, you’ll find all of the games will be tough this year. We’re going to have to be good with and without the ball throughout the full 90 minutes in order to get a result.
“We’ll get best prepared as we can and we’re looking forward to the game because we love playing at Prenton Park with a fantastic atmosphere and fantastic pitch.”
