Larnell Cole looks ahead to Southport

16 December 2018

After a 1-1 draw at PrentonPark in the initial fixture, Rovers will have to fight it out once again at Haig Avenue in order to progress to the third round of the Emirates FA Cup to face Tottenham Hotspur.

Larnell Cole, a winner of the FA Youth Cup with Manchester United, says that the potential of facing Spurs at PrentonPark is enough motivation for any player.

"We've got a few games coming up now so everyone has to be ready as every game will be important over this Christmas period.

"In the FA Cup anything can happen so you have to be ready for the challenge. We know what Southport are going to bring, we know they're going to be right at it at their home ground but we'll be ready too.

The cup clash is an all area sell out including the away end and will be live in front of the TV cameras. Cole is expecting a lively atmosphere.

"It will be a very good atmosphere but we know what to expect. It is a very quick turn around after Saturday's game so we'll prepare right and go again for Monday.

"Obviously the chance to play Tottenham is a big motivation but we've got to beat what is in front of us first. It would be a great challenge for us if we do get through and no doubt it would be a sell out.
