Stockton hopes more goals will follow

26 December 2018

Tranmere Rovers striker Cole Stockton hopes many more goals will come after his first of the season in the 3-1 win against Morecambe.

The academy graduate got Rovers on the road to victory with the opener in the third minute and played a crucial role in the win for Micky Mellon’s side.

Stockton, who has spent a large spell of this season on the sidelines, said: “It has been a good couple of days all round, a goal and a win today and Christmas yesterday, I can’t ask for more.

“It was massive for me to score today, it has been a while to be fair, but it gets hold of you but once it is off your shoulders, you are good to go again.

“Once you have got the first goal, more chances fall to you, but I am pleased I got all the other chances as well and I will be making sure I put those away.

“A goal gives you a shot in the arm, it gives you more energy and the extra 20% that you need.”
