How did they do last season?
Colchester may feel it was a missed opportunity last season as they definitely showed what they were capable off during the season but ultimately paid the price for an inconsistent start and end to the season. The U's recorded only two wins out of their opening 10 encounters of the 17/18 season however their form severely picked up from September to Christmas, only losing two out of 17 during that period and reaching a season high of 5th place. Unfortunately, they couldn't take that run of form into 2018 as they only picked up three out of a possible 15 points during January, resulting in a drop down to 11th position. Colchester managed to keep within touching distance of the play off places right until the last five games of the campaign where they just ran out of steam, being defeated in four of them. They finished 13th and 10 points outside the play offs.New Signings at the time of writing:
