With the 2018/19 season fast approaching we thought we would remind you of who we will be facing next season in Sky Bet League Two. Today's team is Carlisle United.
Name: Carlisle United
Founded: 1904
Nickname: The Cumbrians
Stadium: Brunton Park. Capacity: 18,202
Distance from Prenton Park: 126.1 miles
Manager: John Sheridan
How did they do last season?
It was case of a poor start proved costly for Carlisle in the 17/18 season. Keith Curle's men only managed to register two wins on the board in the first eight games and had to wait until October for any kind of unbeaten run, going six unbeaten. After that run of results it was a patchy Christmas period for The Cumbrians. This may have served as a wakeup call for Carlisle as 2018 only seen them lose four games between then and the end of the season however five of the last seven games resulted in draws and subsequently costing Carlisle any hope they had of promotion via the play offs. Carlisle and Keith Curle went their separate ways and John Sheridan was appointed during the close season.
New Signings at the time of writing:
Joe Fryer, George Glendon, Gary Miller, Macauley Gillesphey
