2018/19 Preparations Well Under Way

14 June 2018

While the Manager and coaching staff are hard at work on building the squad for the coming season, there's been plenty going on off the pitch as the Club gets ready for its first season back in the EFL.

The reseeded pitch at Prenton Park had its first cut on Wednesday, while the usual maintenance work is taking place around the ground to get it in the best condition possible for when you return for our home games.

Though the Club was outside the EFL for only three seasons, there have been a considerable number of changes to regulations and paperwork in that time meaning it's not just a case of carrying on where we left off. The Club had a site visit from the EFL yesterday to be talked through the impact of any rules that differ from those in the National League, while The FA are set to visit later this week to discuss on and off field regulations.

The players return to training at the end of June, with a six day training camp organised in Scotland early in pre-season, culminating in a friendly against Dunfermline.

Our new Mitre balls, player training kit and  EFL letters, numbers and sleeve badges for shirt printing are set to arrive any day now, while the commercial team are busy renewing and securing new sponsorship and advertising deals for next season.

We are also busy upgrading the main stand kitchen and planning some structural changes in the Gold and Silver lounges (knocking the rooms together and enlarging the bar), designed to make the match day experience in the hospitality lounges better and to reduce congestion.

On the playing facilities side we are working on an upgrade to the first team changing room as well as the installation of a borehole and irrigation system at The Campus.
