McNulty Signs New Contract

18 June 2018

Tranmere defender Stephen McNulty has extended his stay with the Club after signing a new 12 month contract.

The 34-year old captained Rovers to promotion last season, playing 45 times, including the Play Off final win against Boreham Wood at Wembley Stadium.

McNulty, whose career has included spells at Barrow and Fleetwood Town, initially joined Rovers on loan from Luton Town in October 2015. He made the move permanent in January 2016 and has now made more than 120 appearances in a Tranmere shirt.

He will join up with team mates for pre-season training next week.

Manager Micky Mellon said: “I'm delighted Macca will be staying with us.

“He played a big part in our promotion last season and he deserves to play in the Football League with Tranmere.

“He's a leader on and off the pitch and a player who is desperate to win football matches. There's never any fuss from him, he just rolls his sleeves up and gets on with it.”
