On June 1, 1991, Chris Malkin wrote his name into Tranmere Rovers folklore by scoring the winning goal in the play-off final which secured the Club's place in the Second Division (now known as The Championship).
Malkin's goal in the first period of extra time helped Rovers to a 1-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers at Wembley Stadium.
