Vanarama National League Play-Offs Semi-Final
Tranmere Rovers vs Ebbsfleet United
Saturday 5 May 2018
Kick-off 12:15pm at Prenton Park
It's an early kick-off on Saturday afternoon as Tranmere Rovers are in play-off semi-final action at Prenton Park against Ebbsfleet United.
Rovers' reward for finishing second is home advantage in this one-legged tie, while The Fleet have already had to go through an 'Eliminator', beating Aldershot Town after a penalty shoot-out on Wednesday evening.
The prize for the winners is a place at the national stadium, Wembley, for the Promotion Final on Saturday 12 May to battle for a place in the EFL.
Manager Micky Mellon has been without full-back Adam Buxton for the last two matches with a stomach injury. The 25-year-old took part in a full training session on Thursday, and he will be assessed ahead of kick-off to see if he will be fit to play.
Midfielder James Wallace has also returned to full training after a brief lay-off, while Jake Kirby has started running following a knee injury.
Evan Gumbs and Ben Tollitt remain absentees with long-term injuries.
Visitors Ebbsfleet United travel north to Wirral from Kent with adrenaline and confidence flowing high after a barnstorming end to the season and a thrilling finish to Wednesday's eliminator.
Luke Coulson is an injury doubt. The talented midfielder was replaced during Wednesday's match and his fitness will be assessed.
Fellow midfielder Sean Shields missed the midweek game and manager Daryl McMahon will check on his availability too.
