Manager looks ahead to play-off semi-final encounter with Ebbsfleet

Tranmere Rovers face a National League play-off semi-final at Prenton Park on Saturday afternoon (12:15pm kick-off) against Ebbsfleet United.

Rovers' opposition was finally confirmed last night after The Fleet defeated Aldershot Town after a penalty shoot-out in their eliminator match at the EBB Stadium.

Manager Micky Mellon says that now they know who the opposition will be, they can move further with the plans for the game.

"We're pleased to know who we're going to face because we can plan a little bit better now.

"We're looking forward to it, we're switched on and know it's going to be a big game so we're really looking forward to playing in front of a big crowd. It's exciting.

"I can't ask any more from the supporters, just get right behind us as they always do.

"It will be a fantastic day for everybody, it's what Tranmere wants to be involved in and should be involved in as a football club.

"We'll keep our focus and try and get it over the line and we should be in for a fantastic afternoon.

"We just want to get it on now, it seems to have been a long wait with trying to get a group of players through a period without picking up any injuries."

Connor Jennings missed last weekend's home game against Hartlepool United through illness, and the manager confirmed that he won't be available for Saturday's game and also gave an update on the other injury news within the squad.

"Connor is out of hospital and is back home. He will be in with us tomorrow for a little bit of light training, so it will be nice to see him up and about and to get him recovered but he won't be available for selection on Saturday.

"Adam Buxton has trained with us today so we'll see what the reaction is to that over the next 24 hours but he took part in a full training session today.

"James Wallace is now training full on with us and Jake Kirby is now doing some running, so other than the longer term ones, I think we're all fit and raring to go."

Tickets for Saturday's game are on sale now. Don't miss out, book your seat at Prenton Park for the game right now, online at www.trfctickets.co.uk/home-matches or pop in to the Club Store at Prenton Park.
