Job vacancy for chef at the training ground

Job title: Player/Campus Chef – PT 32 hours per week (4 x 8 hour shifts)

Location: The Campus, Leasowe

Salary: £15,000

Job role: To ensure the delivery of top quality food offerings at The Campus to the first team, development team, College and any visiting international guests based at the Campus

Responsible to & directed by: First Team Nutritionist

Liaison with: Head Chef

Responsible for:

• Hygienic food preparation and record keeping

• Food ordering and stock management

We are looking for a hard-working, driven, charismatic chef to fill a desirable role catering for Tranmere Rovers football players and staff at our Training Campus in Leasowe, Wirral. The applicant must have a positive, go-getting attitude, with a passion for producing quality, nutritious food capable of fuelling a team in the English Football League. An ability to strong rapport with the athletes and staff is key to success in this exciting fast-paced environment.

Main Duties:

• Preparation of nutritionally balanced breakfasts and lunch for the players at the Campus

• Liaison with the Sports Science Department regarding appropriate menus for the players

• Preparation of lunch offering for College students and staff and any visiting international guests to the Campus (where numbers are particularly large, assistance will be provided with food preparation or KP requirements)

• Take overall responsibility for the cleanliness of the Campus kitchen and ensure compliance with all relevant EHO standards

• Washing up and setting up multiple seatings of food service

• Check and sign off deliveries to the Campus kitchen

• Rectify any problems or food related complaints when leading the Campus kitchen

• Perform all necessary administrative duties required for the efficient running of the kitchen

• Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers

Essential requirements for the post:

• Proven working experience as a chef

• Food Safety and Hygiene Level 2

• Ability to lead the kitchen unsupervised

• Excellent time keeping

• Confidentiality
