Davies pleased with character in victory against Exeter City

3 November 2018

Goalkeeper Scott Davies believes TRFC can keep on improving after the 2-0 victory against Exeter City.

Rovers' number one made two crucial saves either side of half time to keep a clean sheet as Micky Mellon's men moved up to fourth in the League Two standings.

Speaking after the game, Davies said: “If we can win these games, it gives us a chance. The fans were great today and they stayed with us.

“We had a bit of a shaky first ten minutes, but you are going to have those moments in games against the top teams. It is about coming through them and we did that. Our quality showed in the end.

“Everyone was at it but obviously there is still room for improvement. We can play better but when you come up against the top teams, you are going to have to defend and your goalkeeper has to make saves. You have to see spells out, but we did that well today.

“There are times, even last season, where we didn’t come through those spells, but it is the sign of a good team when you do so.”
