It was announced today that midfielder Harvey Gilmour has been voted as EFL Young Player of the Month for October!
The 19 year old enjoyed a rich vein of form during October, netting three times throughout the month. His influential month started as an all-important half time substitute in our home game against Lincoln City, making up a five man midfield and showing maturity beyond his years to take control of the game.
We then headed to Morecambe where he excelled once more. Firstly crossing in a free kick for Ollie Banks to head in the equaliser and then bravely throwing himself into a diving header to put us in front. With the game at 3-3 in the 90th minute, as you’ll all remember, Gilmour stepped up to curl a left footed shot into the top corner, going in off the post, sending the SWA into raptures.
A tightly contested home game against Macclesfield followed and so did another winning goal from Harvey. After brilliant play down the wing from Connor Jennings, he set up Gilmour who beautifully side footed the ball past Taylor from 25 yards. The knee slide afterwards wasn’t bad either…
Well done Harvey!
