Jacko: Great atmosphere at Prenton Park

3 November 2018

Tranmere Rovers assistant manager Michael Jackson spoke to the media following Saturday’s 2-0 triumph over promotion hopefuls Exeter City.

The win was Rovers’ fourth home league win in a row as TRFC continue their climb up the League Two table.

He said: “Exeter City are a good side, they have got some experience players and they have been in the Play-Offs the last couple of years. We said before in the meeting it will be a good game and a tough test. All the games are like that in this league and we knew today would be a game of small margins and it turned out to be as well.

“James Norwood was excellent today. He is a rich vein of form and he is causing lots of problems. Straight from the off he was into their centre backs. He is really difficult to play against.

“Larnell Cole has come in the last couple of games and he gives us a different dimension. He has taken his chance.

“Sometimes the goalkeeper can go unmentioned when you win 2-0 but we are massive on collecting clean sheets and I think he is after Eric Nixon’s record now.

“He has made two great saves, but he is a top goalkeeper, so they are saves you expect him to make. He makes a huge difference to the team.

“The fans really got going but we gave them something to get going about. It is a good atmosphere here and it makes a massive difference, the lads feed off that.”
