Caprice: We left ourselves with a mountain to climb

24 October 2018

Defender Jake Caprice is hoping Tranmere Rovers can bounce back this weekend with a home win after Tuesday’s defeat at Forest Green Rovers.

Speaking after the game, the former Leyton Orient man gave an honest assessment of TRFC’s performance.

He said: “We didn’t start well enough, we started slow. They managed to take a two-goal lead and at half time, we regrouped, and we came out and looked a lot better in the second half, but it was too little, too late.

“They started sharper than us and it isn’t like us, as we usually start sharp, but it is always difficult when teams take a 2-0 lead, it is a mountain to climb.

“Not every team in League Two presses like Forest Green but as the game went on, we grew in confidence on the ball and we were unfortunate not to get anything out of the game.

“Sometimes it doesn’t fall for you and it was one of those nights. We have covered some miles in the last few days, so it will be good to have a home game and hopefully bounce back with a home win.”
