Danny Dyer to play in charity game!

10 October 2018

Tranmere Rovers are delighted to announce that Danny Dyer and Jermaine Pennant will play in the Celebrity Charity Football Match at Prenton Park on Sunday 21st October, raising funds for two important local charities.

Kicking-off at 3pm, proceeds raised from the match will go be donated to Tranmere Rovers In The Community and James Bulger Memorial Trust.

This year is the 25th anniversary of James’ sad passing, and in his memory, his mother Denise decided to launch a charity to benefit and support young people who are disadvantaged by reason of having become a part of bereavement, a victim of crime, hatred or bullying.

Meanwhile, Tranmere Rovers In The Community works with thousands of people each year, with the four core themes of their work being in health, education, social inclusion and sports participation on the Wirral.

And we can now reveal that Dyer and Pennant have signed up to grace the Prenton Park pitch.

Actor Dyer, most famous for his role in BBC Soap Opera EastEnders, will captain the side who will be managed by former Tranmere Rovers player and manager, John Aldridge.

The 41-year-old Londoner joins a host of names from the Reality TV world, including James Argent, Frankie Foster and EastEnders duo, Dean Gaffney and Jake Wood.

Aldridge will be joined in the dugout by former Liverpool boss Roy Evans, as the Wirral community comes together for two brilliant causes.

Former Liverpool and Stoke City midfielder Pennant will also lace up his boots at the home of Tranmere Rovers.

The 35-year-old Nottingham-native, who last played for Non-League club Billericay Town, has played for 15 different during his prolonged career, and racked up 231 Premier League appearances.

Tickets are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for children, with all seating based in the Main Stand. Once the Main Stand has sold out, tickets will be available to purchase in the Essar Kop for all spectators.

For all those who wish to watch the game in the luxury of hospitality at Prenton Park, you can do so for just £25 for adults and £15 for children.

The hospitality package includes access to the popular Gold Lounge, a delicious hot meal, the chance to purchase drinks from the bar and the opportunity to meet the players for autographs after the game has finished.

To purchase tickets, please visit the ticket office, located at Prenton Park, or call 03330 144452 and select option 1/2.

Alternatively, you can purchase tickets online at www.trfctickets.co.uk.
