Tranmere Rovers return to Checkatrade Trophy action on Tuesday night when they welcome Manchester City’s U21 side to Prenton Park, kick-off 7pm.
Micky Mellon’s men are already out of this season’s competition after losing both of their Northern Group D fixtures so far against Crewe Alexandra and Shrewsbury Town.
Paul Harsley’s young Citizens are unbeaten in their last two Checkatrade outings this term, drawing 1-1 at Shrewsbury in August before a 4-1 triumph away to Crewe at Gresty Road.
Tom Dele-Bashiru, Lorenzo Gonzalez, Taylor Richards and Henri Ogunby were all on target for City in Cheshire as they maintained their 100% record at the home of the Railwaymen.
