Micky looking forward to being back on home turf

26 October 2018

Micky Mellon is under no illusions that Saturday’s game against Crawley Town will be another tough test.

“It will be a different challenge and one that we’ll have to meet. If we don’t go there and do the things that we have to do then we’d be in for a difficult afternoon so we’ll go into it knowing that it will be a different challenge to the one we faced on Tuesday.

“It will be nice to be back at home again and we’ll look forward to it. We’ll look forward to getting back to the team that we know that we are.

With a third of the season already gone, Micky says that it is no surprise how relentless Sky Bet League Two is.

“We’ve got to remember that we’re new to this league and we’re only 15 games in. I’ve not been surprised at how tough the games have been and how hard we’ve had to battle to get any kind of result.

“The players are growing into what it’s all about, it’s relentless. You’ve got to have the right mentality all of the time to keep going. In the first 15 games, we’ve had some very good moments and some moments that we know we will have to learn from and take that in to the next 15 games.

“We’ve collected a brilliant amount of points so far and found ourselves in the play-off positions so we’d have to say well done for that. With our players coming in to a new level and us having so many young players you’d have to say that it’s a decent position to be in”.
