Micky's Crawley reaction

27 October 2018

Manager Micky Mellon praised his team for their overall performance in the 5-1 victory at home to Crawley Town on Saturday.

A pleased boss spoke to the local media after the game and was happy with the way his team responded following Tuesday’s defeat at Forest Green.

He said: “The boys did fantastic, especially to bounce back from Tuesday night and to go and get a result at home in the way that we did. Well done to the players.

“Crawley are at the right end of the table for no other reason than they are a good team. We were clinical at times and we took our chances when they came. We are really pleased but we are disappointed we didn’t keep a clean sheet.

“I really mean that, we have to fight hard to keep the clean sheet, but I am happy we picked up a valuable three points and to get a lot of people on the score sheet.

“All of the goal scorers, all of the boys that played in the front three scored very good goals and I am pleased for them as we work very hard in this area.

“The most important thing is that we got a result after Tuesday because we were disappointed with the result but we took our medicine and worked hard on Thursday and Friday to make sure we got back on track today.”
