Norwood confident in the squad heading into the Yeovil game

19 October 2018

Tranmere Rovers' top goal scorer James Norwood admits the team have already shown they can more than hold their own in League Two.

Rovers head to Yeovil Town on Saturday looking to continue their impressive run of form in the fourth tier of English football, and look for a fourth league win on the bounce.

But Norwood is not surprised that Tranmere have adapted well back to life in the EFL and he is enjoying every minute.

He said: "We were one of the best teams in the league below. I spent a long time in that league and a lot of teams in League Two are from the National League.

"We have got players who are capable of playing at this level and the level above. They have got a chance to shine at this level and it is just about putting in the performances.

"We are used to just one position goes up, so to us, three looks massive when you look at the League Two table.

"We have played some very good teams so far but we are more than capable of holding our own and if you look at the vast majority of games, we have been on top, other than probably the first 45 minutes against Lincoln City.

"In the National League, we were a bit notorious for not picking up points against the top five teams so to know we have already played a lot of teams who are near the top of the division and have got results against most of them, is very pleasing."
