Tranmere Rovers legend John Aldridge will grace the famous Prenton Park pitch one more time next month as he joins an already star-studded cast for the Celebrity Football Match.
The former Tranmere manager will be joined alongside club hero Andy Robinson as the excitement builds ahead of the match on Sunday 21st October, 3pm kick-off.
Aldridge, who had a spell as both a player and player- manager at Rovers, made more than 200 appearances for the Club and will always be remembered for helping the team to record high finishes in the league and famous cup runs.
The former Republic of Ireland international, who is also highly thought of at neighbours Liverpool, will be in the opposite dug out to former Reds boss Roy Evans.
Meanwhile, Robinson, who is from Birkenhead, made nearly 100 appearances for Rovers during three spells. and is remembered for scoring a hat trick away at Carlisle United, a place Tranmere have very recent happy memories.
The match, which is to raise funds for two important charities, the James Bulger Memorial Trust and Tranmere Rovers In The Community, is already attracting great interest and tickets are still on sale.
