Tranmere Rovers are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Ryan Williams on a short term contract until January 2019 subject to international clearance.
Williams started his career at Chester City before moving on to Colwyn Bay. After scoring 16 goals in 35 games for Rhyl in 2011, he earned himself a move to EFL side Morecambe. He was an instrumental part of the Morecambe squad between 2013 and 2015 which caught the eye of London side, Brentford in the Championship where he signed a one year contract.
After a season at The Bees he moved on to Scottish side Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Since 2016, Williams has had spells with Ottawa Fury in Canada where he played his football in the North America Soccer League and then made the move to Brazil where he would play for Paysandu in the Brazilian second division.
After a successful trial period with the club, he has today agreed a short term contract with Rovers until January.
Manager Micky Mellon was happy to welcome Ryan to the club
“We’re delighted that we are able to bring Ryan into the group until January.
“He’s a local lad who has played as high up as the Championship so he has experience in the EFL which will add to the squad.
"I've said before that competition for places is healthy for the squad, especially with the high standards that we sets ourselves.
"I'm looking forward to seeing Ryan be part of the group."
